Cohort of students – Suitable for GCSE/ IGCSE/ A level and IB students
Hospital based work experience is our aim for students to have a practical work experience in handling patients and their management plan (medications review), learn patient examination using stethoscope, understand the medical ethics and various medical procedures. Students would be able to have a hands-on experience on different biochemistry tests such as blood tests, blood transfusion, read biochemical results, learn interpretation of tests.
Students will get a chance to have their experience within different specialties such as acute medicine, Endocrinology, Geriatrics and Gastro ward.
5 days – In Buckinghamshire hospitals
Timings – 9 am to 5 pm
A sample day programme:
9 to 10 – Patient clerking
10 to 11 – Examination skills
11 to 11:30 – Coffee break
11:30 to 13:00 – Patient examination
13:00 to 14:00 – Lunch
14:00 to 15:30 – Medical and Biochemical blood analysis
15:30 to 16:00 – coffee break
16:00 to 17:00 – Management plan
Students will be block booked to ensure that they have a chance to get wider experience as possible.

Fees – 5-days hands-on work experience within hospitals £699 (inclusive of VAT)
